Raytown High School Boys Swim Team Earns Conference Title, Qualifies for State
Raytown High School varsity boys swim team earned the title of Suburban White Division conference champions for the third year in a row, members of the team also qualified to compete in the Missouri State High School Activities Association State Boys Swimming and Diving Championships, Nov. 13-14, 2020 in St. Peters, Missouri.
Members of the team earned first place in 10 out of 11 events at the conference meet. Individual and relay conference championships who will compete in the state meet include Joey Talley, Aaron Acker, Dylan Searls, and Luke Markley, 200 medley relay; Luke Markley, Aaron Acker, Jake Talley, and Ben Gippner, 200 freestyle relay; Kai Hensel, Ben Gippner, Dylan Searls, Luke Markley, 400 freestyle relay; Aaron Acker, 100 breaststroke; Ben Gippner, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle; Luke Markley, 50 freestyle; Dylan Searls, 100 fly and 200 IM; and Joey Talley, 100 backstroke.
This is the 45th year in a row members of the Raytown High School varsity boys swim team have qualified to compete in the state competition.
The Raytown High School Varsity Boys Swim team had a regular season dual meet record of 13-0.
The Raytown High School varsity boys swim team is coached by Jim Aziere. Coach Aziere is a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, has served as a coach in the Raytown School District for 50 years, and has a record of 547 wins, 88 losses, and 2 ties as head coach of the Raytown High School swim and dive program.
