Raytown South High School Student Selected as the NAIA High School Student-Athlete of Character Award

Raytown South High School student-athlete Jacob Dodd was selected as the 2019 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) High School Student-Athlete of Character Award Winner.

Dodd was selected out of a total of 34 nominees around the Kansas City metro for his character and likeness to the NAIA’s Champions of Character program, which features integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.

Dodd received the High School Student-Athlete of Character award at the NAIA Champions of Character Foundation Awards Luncheon on May 6. The luncheon celebrated the character values of those who make a difference in the culture of sport and in the community including a high school student-athlete of character, collegiate student-athlete of character, team of character, company of character, and coach of character. Tamika Catchings, former WNBA standout; and ESPN commentator and Director of Player Programs and franchise development with Pacers Sports and Entertainment served as the keynote speaker.
