Herndon Career Center Director and Counselor Receive Top Honors from the Missouri School Counselor Association
Herndon Career Center Director Dr. Cheryl Reichert was selected as the Missouri School Counselor Association’s (MSCA) Administrator of the Year and Herndon Career Center counselor Nate Zier was selected as the MSCA Secondary School Counselor of the Year.
Dr. Reichert was selected for her support, advocacy, implementation, and improvement of school counseling services. Zier was selected for his innovation, leadership, service to the school and community, and program advocacy.
“Dr. Reichert is a strong advocate for career programs and skilled trade development. This recognition is well deserved for her contributions to education and counseling support including her work with the Career Education Consortium, career pathways coursework and curriculum, and her leadership of the Herndon Career Center,” said Assistant Superintendent Dr. Andrea Mixon.
Nate Zier is an advocate for at-risk students. He builds lasting relationships with not only students and teachers but with industry partners and works to develop meaningful internships. He currently serves as the president of the Greater Kansas City Counselor Association’s Board, and is a tireless advocate for school counseling programs,” said Assistant Superintendent Dr. Andrea Mixon.
Both Dr. Reichert and Zier will be eligible to participate in the National Counselor Association Administrator of the Year and Secondary Counselor of the Year selection process.
Dr. Reichert was selected as the Greater Kansas City School Counselor Association’s (GKCSCA) Administrator of the Year and Zier was selected as the GKCSCA Counselor of the Year in the Spring 2020.
