Raytown School District Announces the Hiring of Raytown South High School Basketball Coach
The Raytown School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Reggie Morris as the head basketball coach at Raytown South High School.
Morris is coming to Raytown South High School after serving as a counselor and basketball coach at Grandview High School since 2006. He became the head basketball coach at Grandview High School in 2014. During his time in Grandview, his teams earned state championships in 2018 and 2019; sectional championships in 2017, 2018, and 2019; district championships in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020; and conference championships in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
Morris was named Suburban Blue Conference Coach of the Year in 2017, 2018, and 2019; District 12 Coach of the Year 2017 and 2018; District 13 Coach of the Year in 2019; Greater Kansas City Officials Association Coach of the Year in 2018; USA Today Missouri Coach of the Year in 2018; William Jewell Paul Lambert Kansas City Metro Area Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2019; and the National Federation of State High School Association Midwest High School Coach of the Year in 2019.
Morris has more than 35 years of experience in education and coaching and previously worked at Westport High School and Bishop O‘Hara High School in the Kansas City metro and Creighton Prep High School in Omaha, Nebraska.
Morris earned his Master’s in Counseling from Creighton University and his Missouri Counseling Certification from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
