Raytown High School’s Theatre Department presents, She Kills Monsters

The Raytown High School Theatre Department is proud to present, She Kills Monsters on April 7-9, 2022 at 7 p.m. in the Raytown High School auditorium. She Kills Monsters is written by Qui Nguyen and follows Agnes Evans while she navigates grief surrounding her sister, Tilly’s, tragic death. Along the way, Agnes discovers more about Tilly through meeting her friends both in real life and in the imaginary game. In order to accomplish her quest, Agnes faces many of the monsters in Tilly’s world and in the process, defeats some of her own monsters too. She Kills Monsters is rated PG-13 for language.

The cast includes Naomi Gonterman as Agnes, Clara Heiken as Tilly, Carissa Orozco as Kaliope, Reiko Groves as Lilith, LeAhnna Seals as Vera, Maggie Givens as Evil Tina, Jasiah Smith as Evil Gabbi, Cynne Soria as Farrah the Faerie, Marques Alsup as Chuck, Parker Cobden as Miles, Sam Foster as Orcus, Chase Dernier as Steve, Micah Dattoli as Narrator, and Phenix Watson, Aurelia Rivera, Ariel Giles, Aiden Young, Dominick Loaiza, Nigel Turner, and Zaire Reed as the monsters.

The crew is led by Lorne Kelley as technical director. Stage Management provided by Kaila Beecher, with Hanah Cartner as assistant stage manager. Assistant direction by Izzie Lawrence and Karma Harper. Other designers include Phenix Watson (scenic and sound), Izzie Lawernce and Clara Bryant (props), Lucas Mayo (lights), Naomi Gonterman, Maggie Givens, and Marissa Johnson (costumes), Allie Braly (hair/makeup), Parker Cobden (publicity), and Kya Berry (choreography). Poster designed by Zoe Terryberry. Fight choreography by local actor, Justin Barron, sponsored by Yael Abouhalkah and Rebecca Bosley.
