Welcome to Raytown South Middle

  • Front of RSMS Raytown South Middle School, the district’s second middle school, opened its doors to students in 1958 serving students in grades 1-6 while school building projects were under construction around the district.  Gordon Smith was the school’s first principal.  At the start of the 1958-1959 school year, Raytown South Middle School originally named, Raytown South Junior High, began serving students in grades 6-9 in the southern part of the district. Throughout the years, Raytown South Middle School has been home to students in grades 6-9, 7-9, and is currently home to students in grades 6-8.

2019 Fall Sports Parent Meeting : Thursday, May 23 @6:30pm

Does your son or daughter plan to participate in a fall sport next year?

Back-to-school days are such a busy (and expensive) time of the year, why not get ahead by scheduling a physical (at a great price!) and finding out just how much that gear will cost you for the football, volleyball, and cross-country season! Join us at the school this Thursday (5/23) at 6:30pm. Meet our coaches, try out some of the gear, sign up for physicals, and have some nachos on us! We hope to see you there!

Keep up on what's happening here at the school. Follow this link to find out all of the RSMS News

*Did you visit our building today? We’d love to get your feedback on how things went. Here’s a quick survey to let us know about your experience visiting Raytown South Middle School.

  • About Peachjar

As part of the district's efforts to be more environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology and maintain fiscal responsibility, the district has transitioned from paper to electronic flier (eflier delivery). To publicize content that supports the basic educational mission of the district and/or benefits the population of the district in a positive manner, the Raytown C-2 School District uses Peachjar, a free online service for schools, to post approved efliers so that they are accessible to parents, staff and students as wanted/needed.
