Welcome to Northwood School

  • Exterior of Northwood School Northwood School was first opened as an elementary school in 1957 with Ernest Ellis as the principal. It was built on 20 acres purchased from G. A. Page Enterprises.  The original school had 16 classrooms and a cafeteria.  At its point of highest attendance, records show Northwood housed 869 students. When the building was closed in 1981, it was rented to medical professionals for several years, then in 1987-88 was reopened as a school housing four special education programs, where 12 area school districts housed students.  Currently, Northwood is home only to Raytown School District students.

Sprigeo is a new online system that parents, guardians, and students can use to report bullying incidents and school safety threats. Sprigeo will give our stakeholders another medium for communicating with our school administration when bullying or school safety incidents occur. All information sent through the Sprigeo system goes directly to school administrators through a secure online connection. • About Peachjar

As part of the district's efforts to be more environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology and maintain fiscal responsibility, the district has transitioned from paper to electronic flier (eflier delivery). To publicize content that supports the basic educational mission of the district and/or benefits the population of the district in a positive manner, the Raytown C-2 School District uses Peachjar, a free online service for schools, to post approved efliers so that they are accessible to parents, staff and students as wanted/needed.
