Technology

  • About Us

Technology plays a critical role in our classrooms. Raytown Quality Schools technology team strives to provide excellent customer service to staff and students. Their mission is to empower district technology users while supporting over 10,000 computers, 700 technology enhanced classrooms and numerous instructional and operational applications. The team’s excellent service has been nationally recognized through award of the Lenovo Outstanding Service Award annually since 2016. This award is presented only to the top 10 percent of companies in the entire North America region who complete their own repair of Lenovo devices.

The District follows a comprehensive plan for securing data that includes policies, administrative procedures, internal procedures, and practices. In fact, Raytown Quality Schools was one of the first districts in the nation to receive the CoSN (the Consortium for School Networking) Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) Seal, recognized for the district’s commitment to ensure the privacy and security of student data.

District instructional leaders infuse technology into the curriculum. Our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, projectors, and document cameras. Specifically, classroom technology distribution consists of:

    • PK – 1 students have access to devices in their classrooms
    • 2 – 5 students have access to 1:1 devices in their classrooms
    • 6 – 12 students are assigned a 1:1 device to take home

    Student Online Safety

Student safety remains a priority and is integrated into the district's digital citizenship curriculum. Raytown Quality Schools is proud to have maintained the distinction of Common Sense Media Digital Citizenship Certified District since 2016.  Our online safety program is derived from the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) recommended guidelines established Common Sense Media. For more information on online safety and resources for home use, see the 'Internet Safety' section below.
