Welcome to Raytown South Middle

  • Front of RSMS Raytown South Middle School, the district’s second middle school, opened its doors to students in 1958 serving students in grades 1-6 while school building projects were under construction around the district.  Gordon Smith was the school’s first principal.  At the start of the 1958-1959 school year, Raytown South Middle School originally named, Raytown South Junior High, began serving students in grades 6-9 in the southern part of the district. Throughout the years, Raytown South Middle School has been home to students in grades 6-9, 7-9, and is currently home to students in grades 6-8.

    We are rapidly approaching the 2021-22 winter sports season. Please make sure your incoming 7th or 8th grader has their pre-participation sports physical exam completed by a physician.   • Raytown High School Boys Swim Team Competes in State Championships

    Raytown High School varsity boys swim team competed at the Missouri State High School Activities Association State Boys Swimming and Diving Championships, Nov. 11-13, 2021 in St. Peters, Missouri. The team placed 7 out of 41 teams in the state competition. Five Bluejays earned All-State honors.

  • Elementary Media Specialist to Serve on State Board

    Kris Baughman, Raytown C-2 School District Library Media Specialist for Eastwood Hills and Westridge Elementary Schools, was selected by the Missouri Association of School Librarians (MASL) to serve as president for the 2021-2022 term. Baughman began her role as president in July.

  • COVID Vaccine Clinic for Ages 5-22

    The Raytown C-2 School District is partnering with the Jackson County Health Department (JACOHD) to host onsite COVID-19 vaccine clinics on Dec. 18 for Raytown C-2 students aged 5-22.
